Regis Aged Care has announced the official opening of its latest state-of-the-art aged care home, Regis Camberwell.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Honourable Kate Thwaites, MP, Federal Member for Jagajaga and Assistant Minister for Social Security, Ageing and Women, and Dr Carina Garland, MP, Federal Member for Chisholm, alongside other distinguished guests.
With a long history of delivering both greenfield and brownfield developments, Regis has remained committed to constructing modern, purpose-built aged care homes that meet the highest standards of care and service for older Australians. Regis has earned a reputation for building, owning and operating premium, purpose-built aged care homes, exemplified by the Camberwell home.
Dr Linda Mellors, Managing Director and CEO of Regis, said Regis Camberwell had set a new standard for future developments in the aged care sector.
“We are proud to provide a home that prioritises the comfort, safety and wellbeing of our residents,” said Mellors.
The home offers various care options, including permanent care, respite care, palliative care and a Memory Support Unit, tailored to meet residents’ unique needs. It features 111 rooms, suites and apartments, all with private ensuites and boasts an onsite salon, day spa, private dining facilities, cinema and library, ensuring residents have access to a wide range of amenities.
Dr. Mellors highlighted the home’s innovative design and sustainability features.
“Regis Camberwell exemplifies how modern construction can prioritise environmental sustainability while enhancing the comfort and wellbeing of residents and employees. Through the innovative use of solar energy, passive design principles, advanced climate control systems, comprehensive recycling programs, sustainable building materials and environmentally sensitive landscaping, the home is committed to reducing its environmental impact,” Mellors added.
The total construction cost for Camberwell was AUD 40 million, with the overall investment, including land and other costs, amounting to approximately AUD 70 million. This ambitious project was brought to fruition through the dedication of Regis employees, consultants, contractors, including Building Engineering, HSPC Architects, Jeff Green Engineering and the unwavering support of the local community.
“I am confident that today, and for many decades to come, this beautiful home will serve the Camberwell community, providing the home and personalised care that all older people deserve.”
