The team at Radius Care take the time to understand their residents needs first and never more so that when celebrating milestones.
At Radius Care, celebrating residents’ birthdays is a tradition that brings the community closer together. They recently had the joy of marking significant milestones for three wonderful residents, each celebration embodying the Radius way of making every moment special.

In April, Nora Lynch (née Kirkwood), the oldest resident at Radius Heatherlea in New Plymouth celebrated her 104th birthday. Nora’s special day was made even more memorable with the presence of local dignitaries, Mayor Neil Holdom and MP David MacLeod. MP Glen Bennet also sent beautiful flowers to honour Nora. A highlight of the day for Nora was when her family enjoyed a ride in a vintage 1920 Dodge Tourer. John from the Taranaki Vintage Car Club had spent 50 years restoring it to its former glory, so it was an extra special trip.

Joan (Irene) Thomson, a resident at Radius Matamata Country Lodge in Matamata, recently celebrated her 100th birthday in grand style. The highlight of her milestone was receiving a birthday card from the King, which added a touch of royal elegance to the occasion. Surrounded by fellow residents and staff, Joan’s centennial celebration was a joyful gathering, made even more special as she wore an extravagant birthday crown.

Over at Radius St Helenas in Christchurch, Daphne Eva recently celebrated her 101st birthday in May. Daphne, who has a passion for playing bowls and a sweet tooth, enjoyed a celebration surrounded by friends and fellow residents. Ludo, the therapy dog, joined the party, wagging his tail and spreading cheer as he made his rounds among the guests.
These celebrations highlight the community spirit that define life at Radius Care. Each birthday is an opportunity to create memories and honour the extraordinary lives of its residents.
