Easter Treats for RSL LifeCare Residents

Easter

AUSTRALIA | Easter treats for RSL LifeCare catered to every resident's dietary requirements, allowing all to celebrate over the long weekend.

This Easter, thanks to a collaboration with The Pure Food Co, RSL LifeCare residents on texture-modified diets were treated to a festive favourite in a form just for them: a pureed hot cross bun.

Traditional Easter treats like hot cross buns are usually off the menu for residents who require modified diets, as their textures can be difficult to replicate in a pureed form. But this year was different. The Pure Food Co developed a custom hot cross bun mould, enabling RSL LifeCare chefs to recreate the beloved dish with all the flavour and visual appeal of the original, ensuring everyone could take part in the Easter cheer.

Approximately 20 percent of RSL LifeCare residents are on modified diets due to age-related conditions. As dietary needs become more complex, so does the challenge of delivering meals that are both nutritious and enjoyable. That’s where innovation and passion meet.

“Our philosophy is that food should always be delicious and presented with love, and texture-modified meals are no exception,” said RSL LifeCare General Manager, Hospitality Services, Hannah Evans.

“In fact, we believe these dishes deserve even more attention, as the residents who rely on them often have the greatest nutritional needs. That’s why we strive to make every plate not only nourishing but visually appealing. I love working with The Pure Food Co, whose commitment to improving the experience for these residents aligns with ours. They inspire creativity within our culinary teams and bring out a healthy dose of friendly competition among our chefs, which only raises the bar for everyone.”

Through partnerships with pioneers like The Pure Food Co, RSL LifeCare continues to offer residents variety, dignity, and delight at mealtime, no matter their dietary requirements. These texture-modified options are not just seasonal novelties but part of an ongoing commitment to innovation in aged care dining. Because at RSL LifeCare, food is more than fuel, it’s comfort, community, and celebration.
