Denmark is leading the way in Covid-19 inoculations in the EU, as 2 per cent of the population has been given the vaccine. With the emphasis on healthcare workers and the elderly, all in these groups should be vaccinated by April 2021.
“We have achieved a very fast and efficient rollout of the vaccinations.
“The vaccines were administered in all of the country’s elderly care centres within a couple of weeks of the initial rollout,” said Soren Brostrom from the Danish Health Authority.
Unlike Sweden or Finland, where the vaccination programme is run through local health authorities, Denmark has a centralised process where doses are distributed efficiently. Vaccination numbers are reported quicker than elsewhere in the region.
