NEW CHAIRMAN AT BUPA

Following the resignation of Nicola Roxon, Bryan Mogridge was appointed as the new chairman of Bupa Australia and New Zealand.

Mogridge has plenty of experience at Bupa, having served as non-executive director of Bupa Australia and New Zealand since 2013, and chairman of Bupa Care Services New Zealand and its predecessor from 1998 to 2015. Mogridge previously chaired the Board of Trustees of the Starship Foundation for over 20 years, has been the chief executive officer of two public companies and a director of several other companies.

Roger Davis, chairman of the Bupa Group, thanked Roxon for her time at the company.

“I would like to thank the Honourable Nicola Roxon for her excellent contribution to Bupa Australia and New Zealand over the past five years, first as a non-executive director and then as chairman,” said Davis.

“We have greatly valued her unique insights, skills and experience and her deep understanding of the health and community services sector.”

Bupa also announced the appointment of Michael Hawker as deputy chairman of the Bupa Australia and New Zealand Board. Hawker joined the Board in April 2019, initially as a non-executive director.
